Resilience Amidst Ruin: Life After Katrina Artist Photograph - Gulf Shores Alabama, Coastal Home #29586
Owned by Execlartmarket1
Description
Step into the poignant narrative of resilience with our Life After Katrina Artist Photograph. During my travels in Gulf Shores, Alabama, I encountered this hauntingly beautiful scene—a house ravaged by Katrina yet still standing, a testament to the strength of its occupant. Despite the devastation, the owner remained steadfast, unable to afford repairs but refusing to abandon the place he called home.
This powerful image captures the spirit of survival and the enduring human connection to place. Display this evocative artwork in your home as a reminder of the indomitable human spirit and the beauty found in perseverance.
I have done many things in my life, from custom painting on cars and vans to owning a pool hall. I was painting in the van-in days and won multiple awards for my work. I installed high end automotive stereos for movie stars and their agents. Produced shooting sports for ESPN and cable TV. The list is long on my many businesses, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed except one. Twenty years ago I started doing graphic design which let into building websites. For the first few years it was enjoyable, I was being creative. It however led me into programming which just sapped the artist out of me, but I was stuck. Then I got very ill, my liver was dying. I spent most of 2016/2017 in the hospital. I finally got well enough to get on the liver transplant list and subsequently got a new liver. I am a very lucky man.
Having lost my web business I decided that it was a good thing. It was killing me, albeit slower than my liver. Around May of 2018 I needed to do something, needed to work again. Having been given a new lease on life I decided to find something that would get my creativity back, I needed to enjoy working again, it had been a long time. I look forward every day to design something new. I haven't found my niche yet but every day is a new experience. and am working on being happy again.
I hope you enjoy my work so far, it is all a work in progress. I am happy to be alive.
Thank you,
Yank
